Altea pure powder
INCI: Althaea Officinalis Root Powder
CAS #: 73049-65-7
EC #: 277-254-6
The root of altea or marshmallow is rich in antioxidants, contains flavonoids and may also have anti-inflammatory properties. Rich in mucilage, starches, pectin, and favonoids, it is also a natural source of many vitamins and minerals, including the B-complex vitamins, calcium, sodium, iron, vitamin A, and zinc.
It can be used alone or added to any vegetable coloring mix to make it creamier and drip-free.
The use of Altea makes the scalp smoother and silkier, hydrated and nourished.
How to use:
Do not mix water with powder directly. Add the very hot water little by little, gradually integrating at intervals, until you obtain a homogeneous paste. The altea or marshmallow needs a large amount of water to dissolve it and for the powder to hydrate properly. Contains high content
of mucilage that covers the hair, achieving a conditioning effect and a silky finish. To get a good mix, it is recommended to let the paste rest for at least 6/8 hours, thus we will achieve a complete hydration of the powder.
When the result is a yogurt, gel-like texture, it is ready to apply to all hair or to join with other Ayurvedic plants such as Bhringaraj, Neem or Amla.
Massage, cover with a transparent film or a plastic cap, and leave for more than 30 minutes. If possible, 1 to 2 hours.
Rinse everything carefully so it does not get into the eyes.
Once hydrated, the altea can be frozen for later use.
Warning: It should not be used without previously hydrating as much as possible, for 6/8 hours, since it causes the opposite effect on the hair, drying it excessively.
