Ginkgo biloba leaves contain flavones (quercetol, kenferol, etc.), terpenic lactones (ginkgolides) and phytosterols. They have more than remarkable venotonic effects, they act as neuroprotective, peripheral vasodilator, antiplatelet, anthemorrhoidal, diuretic and antioxidant.

In traditional Chinese medicine, ginkgo seeds have been taken to combat phlegm in asthmatic attacks and bronchitis, as an antiallergic, to treat urinary incontinence, infantile enuresis, bladder inflammation, vaginal yeast infection, and as a kidney tonic - yang– and sexual revulsive. And the leaves have been intended to alleviate circulation disorders, rheumatic inflammations, and skin problems.
