SENSICARE C 2010 is a broad-spectrum preservative for cosmetics specifically developed to control the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast. Cosmetic preservative based on sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate. Low toxicity cosmetic preservative suitable for organic label cosmetics. SENSICARE C 2010 is suitable for formaldehyde-free cosmetics. Soluble in both phases of the emulsion. Cosmetic preservatives are suitable for protecting cosmetic and personal care formulations, such as emulsions, creams, lotions and gels. Suitable for rinse-off and leave-on products.

DESCRIPTION
SENSICARE C 2010 is an effective broad-spectrum preservative for cosmetics and detergents. SENSICARE C 2010 is based on a mixture of sodium salt of benzoic acid and potassium salt of sorbic acid, developed specifically to control microbial growth.

EFFECTIVENESS
Its effectiveness is based on enzymatic inhibition and alteration of the cell membrane. Proven effectiveness in preventing the growth and spread of the following microorganisms, among others:
Gram Negative Bacteria: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas fluorescens. Gram Positive Bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermis.
Fungi and Yeasts: Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans.

APPLICATIONS AND SCOPE
Suitable for protecting cosmetic and personal care formulations such as emulsions, creams, lotions and gels. It is also appropriate to protect with wet wipes. It is suitable for both rinse-off and leave-on products.
Suitable for formulations with organic labels.
Suitable with the most common raw materials used in cosmetic and personal care formulations.

USE DOSE
The most common doses vary between 0.6 and 1.7%. The most appropriate dosage depends on the specific characteristics of the product to be protected and the environmental conditions to which it is exposed. The ideal dosage should be evaluated by Cosmetic Challenge Testing on a case-by-case basis taking into account the specific application of the product.
Maximum allowed dose according to Regulation (EU) 1223/2009: 1.9%

GUIDELINES FOR USE
Once applied, the product is stable in a wide range of pH (up to 5.5) and temperatures (up to 80ºC).
It is highly recommended to add the product at an early stage of production, where proper distribution of the product along with the product could be ensured. However, it can be added throughout the production process.
pH and temperature values must be taken into account from the beginning to the end of the manufacturing process. Strong redox conditions must be added.

DURATION
Best use within 18 months from production date.

STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place between 5ºC and 35ºC, protected from frost, extreme heat and direct sunlight. Keep the product tightly closed in the original container.
